Education, Specialities, Years in practice

About Me

With over 20 years of experience in frontline community settings, I specialize in supporting individuals navigating complex challenges such as burnout, compassion fatigue, anxiety, depression, and stress management. My approach is gentle, down-to-earth, and infused with a dash of East Coast humor. I strive to create a collaborative and empowering counselling experience that honors your lived experience, strengths, and resilience.

I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from Carleton University and am registered with both the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers (NLCSW). This allows me to offer virtual counselling services to clients in both Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador. My holistic, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive practice draws on a range of evidence-based frameworks, including attachment theory, polyvagal theory, internal family systems, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I’m deeply committed to ongoing professional development to ensure I’m offering you the most effective support.

My career began in Newfoundland, working with Memorial University’s counselling center and the NL Sexual Assault Crisis and Prevention Centre. Since then, I’ve worked with individuals facing mental health issues, addiction, violence, and poverty. I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my practice, which helps me connect with my clients on a deeper, more authentic level. I believe we are not defined by the labels or diagnoses we carry, and my role is to help you tap into your innate wisdom and capacity for growth and change.

When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me sipping tea with my cat curled up nearby or traveling back to Newfoundland to spend time with my family. These moments remind me of the importance of balance, which I strive to help my clients achieve in their own lives.

If you’re ready to explore a counselling experience that feels genuine, collaborative, and rooted in compassion, I’d be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.
